In case you didn’t notice, QuickBooks had a new update a few weeks ago (August 25th) that contained a few important user-suggested updates. Below are three of my favorite enhancements.
- Show attachments column on expenses list: this handy new addition shows the number of attachments per expense. Simply click a number to view thumbnails and then click on the thumbnail itself to download the attachment. This is a great way of making sure you have all your expenses and attached receipts. To get there: Transactions > Expenses > Table Gear > Attachments. (This feature is available in QuickBooks Plus only).
- Copy description to memo: Now you can automatically copy the bank’s transaction description right to the memo field, make it show up on reports such as the general leger. To do it: Transactions > Banking > Table Gear > Copy Description.
- In the ever-expanding line of keyboard shortcuts, QuickBooks added a nice way to close transaction forms such as invoices, expenses, etc. Simply hit ESC.
An off topic quick note: I want to thank everyone for their interest and participation in our QuickBooks training and classes. We’ve been having a great time. There’s still some time slots available, so don’t hesitate to contact us.
